Let’s celebrate!

The Co-Kneader Turns 80

In 1945, BUSS filed the patent for a groundbreaking invention: the co-kneading principle, developed by Heinz List. This marked the beginning of what would become decades of compounding excellence.

Now, in 2025, the original Co-Kneader celebrates its 80th anniversary — a milestone that reflects not just the longevity of the invention, but its continual relevance and transformation through eight decades of engineering progress.

From the early launch of the first co-kneader over earlier stages like the PR series to the introduction of modular systems like MKS, the development of co-kneaders for special applications like the PCS series and ultimately COMPEO — BUSS technology has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of compounding.

A Look Back

Today, the co-kneading principle is still patented. It evolved, it received new elements and features that make it stronger. But it’s still our core.
